MISSION
The mission of GIEFAS is to contribute to the generation and dissemination of scientific knowledge through research activities and the qualification of human resources in the field of biology. This Mission is framed in the need to transfer scientific knowledge to the productive sectors and to the authorities to promote the rational use and conservation of natural resources, mainly wild fauna.
The mission of GIEFAS is based on the importance of biodiversity and its ecosystems, emphasizing the problems of the human communities with which it interacts.

To consolidate a research group made up of professionals with a scientific profile who actively participate in the resolution of environmental problems using theoretical and experimental approaches.
To promote an inter-disciplinary approach to complex environmental problems through inter-institutional linkage and scientific collaboration.
To promote, through scientifically based productive innovations, the socio-economic development of human communities that allow them to improve their quality of life.
ORIGINAL KNOWLEDGE
We contribute with original knowledge to the resolution of socio-environmental problems from an ecosystem approach and through interdisciplinary work with producers and government agencies.
SUSTAINABILITY AND ANIMAL WELFARE
We aim to establish bases for the development of productive models that include the sustainable use of wild fauna, focusing on high standards of animal welfare.
